buen camino! May you find what you are looking for...ask, and it shall be given, knock and the door will be opened, seek and ye shall find! Love you brother!
Michael: I really respect this endeavor of yours and have no doubt that your solitude will shed insight into your life. I wish you all the best and look forward to sharing in some of your introspection. :)
Hi Mike. You are in Toulouse right now and your bag has taken a different journey. Remember that you began this pilgrimage the moment you heard God point you to it, and that he has a plan. We will wait to see how it unfolds. In the meantime I am praying (many of us are) that the bag will find its way back to you. I am grateful today that by the grace of God you have friends of friends who have been able to provide you with a place to stay. God is good. Buen Camino mijo.

I hope that your backpack has caught up with you (or, is at least gaining ground) and that the rest of your trip is a little less rocky.
Why does God do the things He does? Only he knows. My experience is that He has a keen sense of humor. I have also found that there is truth in the adage that when God closes a door, he opens a window. Relax and enjoy the adventure. As it says in Desiderata, "You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should". Be alert to the miracles all around you.
On a practical note, every major city (and many smaller ones) have an American embassy or consulate. If you need help, ask any police officer how to get in touch with the nearest one.
Michael, I hope things are going better for you. You are such an inspiration. You sought, and have hopefully found, what you need to become closer to God and didn't let any obstacles stand in your way. We should all be so motivated. After watching your video, I have dedided to encourage my 18 and 15 year-old kids to watch it too. I will also encourage them to follow your blog. Hopefully, this endeavor will serve to bring not only you, but many, closer to God. God Speed!
Sounds like a rich experience. Enjoy the serenity of the many moments you will have during your walks/time there, and be safe.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a God-inspired trip Mike. I pray every minute of it is filled with a greater awareness and experience of Him.
